[UO-11 reception REPORT]

LEO satellites (Low Earth Orbit) are low circular orbit satellites (about 800-1000kms from the earth). Different from AO-40, it has an intercontinental covering, they permit QSO at a European level with rare possibilities towards other continents. Their passage lasts about 15-20 minutes and are able to work easily. It is necessary to have a beam antenna system.

At the moment the LEO radio amateur satellites in function are:

  • FO-29
  • AO-27
  • AO-7 (again active after 25 years of inactivity)
  • SO-50
  • AO-51
  • VO-52

On the website http://www.amsat.org you can find all the necessary information.
