My passion for hamradio was born in the middle of 1999, when I met Luciano IZ1BP0 and Gianfranco IZ1DBU both members of the ARI section of Rivarolo Canavese (Turin). They were interested in packet radio and they had been doing it with the use of a Linux system, an environment in which I have been working for about 5 years and of which I am devoted. When they explained what they could do with Linux with relevance to data transmission, I immediately fell in love with the topic and since then the interest has expanded to all the aspects of the radio amateur sector. The first step was, hence , to take part in a course, held every year at the ARI section to receive the 1st special license, which I got in November 2000 (call IW1FXZ) and then ordinary exam which I have just successfully taken (January 2002) for which I have received the call IZ1ERR Experiences The first part of my radio amateur career was concentrated in the packet radio sector. For more than a year I have been the system administrator of ir1ip.ampr.org (at the moment not working , but we hope to re-start it as soon as possible) a Linux system connected to a SuperVozely node, or rather a dispositive able to supply packet radio connections at the speed of 1200, 9600, 38400 bps as well as 512 Mbit/sec with PSK radio at 1,2Ghz. |

The system had the aim of supplying mainly cluster access and radio amateurs BBS. Also it has been used to do interesting and well succeeded experiences of data transmission encapsulated in AX25 packets. At the moment I am particularly interested in:
